What do we become
when we have
time?

Humanity has learned to live longer, think faster and travel farther. Building a life together is still something we have to learn.

More than three hundred light-years from Earth, a small community sets out to make a home beneath a red dwarf. Their destination is Violet: a world of purple life and unfamiliar shores, with a narrow twilight zone between enduring day and night.

For Elias and Nora, the voyage carries a century of shared life into an unknown future. Around them are families, scientists, children and a ship’s AI, each with a different reason to discover what comes next.

The Long Beginning is a planned trilogy about discovery, consciousness, love and the choices that remain when the limits of a human lifetime begin to change. It starts with a place to live, and people worth knowing.

The star ahead of us is too faint for the eyes I was born with.

I can see it anyway.

From Violet, Chapter One

A different way
to write a world.

This is openly a human–AI collaboration. AI helps write the book, as well as explore and revise it.

01

A human starting point

Aleksander brings the ideas, the world, the characters and the direction of the story. His curiosity about people, science and the future shapes what the project is trying to say.

02

An ongoing conversation

AI is part of drafting, research, exploring alternatives and revision. Scenes and ideas develop through repeated conversations, with attention to voice, scientific plausibility and continuity.

03

Human editorial choices

Aleksander chooses what belongs in the story, what needs rethinking and where it goes next. The aim is an original, thoughtful novel—and a new way for more people to share their ideas.

A note on authorship.

I have great respect for writers and the craft behind literature. I understand the concerns AI raises about consent, training material, creative rights and writers’ livelihoods. Being open about my process matters, but it does not resolve those questions on its own.

The Long Beginning is a collaboration between me and AI. AI contributes to drafts and revision; I develop the project’s direction, make the editorial choices and take responsibility for the text I publish. This way of working helps me turn ideas into stories I can share. I want to explore its possibilities with respect for the many other ways books are written.

I hope readers will choose this book for its story. The free opening chapter is an invitation to decide for yourself whether this is a world you would like to explore.

Doctor, psychiatrist & curious storyteller

I work as a doctor and psychiatrist. This project is a place to play with AI, writing and the possibilities of the future.

I hope to offer something original and inspiring: a future readers want to explore, and characters they enjoy spending time with. I’m also interested in what this new kind of authorship makes possible—giving more people a way to turn their ideas into stories they can share.

This is a creative experiment, made with care and shared in that spirit.

On the way
to Violet.

My goal is to finish the manuscript for Book One in December 2026.

I’m writing and revising the novel now, with AI as part of that process. After the manuscript is complete, there will be a final editorial pass, formatting and a proof copy before publication. I’ll share a release date when those steps are clearer.

For now, the opening chapter is here to read freely. Follow the writing journal for updates about the world and the making of the book. You can leave questions and comments there.

If the opening stays with you, share it with someone who enjoys thoughtful science fiction.
